The Quitters Unite website aims to provide young adults with information and support to help them quit smoking when they’re ready. The site offers a personalized quit plan, quit tips, a cigarette cost calculator, discussion forums, and other information about tobacco.
The Quitters Unite website is managed by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon. It was originally created in 2008 as part of the BC Healthy Living Alliance Tobacco Reduction Strategy to address higher smoking rates among young adults age 19-29. In February 2010, Health Canada provided funds to re-design the Quitters Unite website.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living, and advocacy.
Health Canada is the Federal department responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health, while respecting individual choices and circumstances.
