Nanaimo

What's up people!? We've been having some memorable times here in Nanaimo with our new found friends Bernie and Chantal as well as finding new wonderful sites in and around the town. Highlights include the quay/fishing area, the live music venues, as well as the campus of Vancouver Island University (shoutout to the student chefs in the cafeteria). The locals here are very warmhearted and welcoming and treated us like we were home. I took the advice of students who encouraged us to go out and enjoy the sites and nightlife of the city by the sea, and enjoyed myself quite well. I was also able to wake up early this morning, to have one last skate at the Nanaimo Skatepark and Chat it up with a few of the few skaters up that early, it Was a definite plus getting to a skatepark and not having to inhale second hand smoke, or to see any cigarette butts, debris, or phlegm littered on the park concrete; Just a clean and proper skatepark. Who appreciated this even more than myself were the few kids skating the park, those who will probably follow by example, especially when watching individuals like myself or other older riders living a healthy lifestyle. After this small skate mission, and a quick rendezvous at our hotel, it was time to pack our luggage and catch the ferry to continue on to the next town....Prince George here we come!!!!!!
